Free Manglik Dosha Calculator
The first question that comes up in almost every rishta talk is whether the chart is Manglik. Put in the birth date, time and city, and this calculator works out where Mars actually sits — from the Lagna and from the Moon — and tells you in plain words what that means.

What Mangal dosha actually means
Mangal dosha, known across Punjab and north India as Manglik, is read when Mars occupies the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house of a birth chart. Mars is the planet of heat, drive and impatience, and those six houses touch the body, speech, home, marriage, longevity and expenses — the very areas married life leans on. Classical texts also list plenty of cancellations, which is why two astrologers can look at the same chart and give a family two different answers. Use this reading to understand your own chart before the conversation, not to close a rishta.
Manglik dosha questions families ask
Is this Manglik dosha calculator free?
Yes. It is completely free and there is no sign-up. Enter the birth date, birth time and birthplace, and the Mangal dosha reading appears straight away on the same page.
How is Manglik dosha calculated here?
The calculator works out the sidereal position of Mars from your birth details and then counts the house Mars occupies from the Lagna and from the Moon. Mars sitting in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house from either reference is what astrologers traditionally read as Mangal dosha.
What is the difference between Manglik and partial Manglik?
When Mars falls in a dosha house from both the Lagna and the Moon, the chart is read as Manglik. When only one of the two references shows it, most astrologers call it partial or mild Manglik, and it is usually treated far more leniently during rishta talks.
Can a Manglik marry a non-Manglik person?
Families do it all the time. Classical texts list several cancellations, called Manglik dosha nivaran, such as Mars in its own sign, Mars aspected by Jupiter, or both charts carrying the same indication. Treat the result here as a starting point for a conversation with an astrologer your family trusts, not as a verdict on the rishta.
Do I need the exact birth time?
It helps a great deal. Without a birth time the Lagna cannot be fixed, so the check runs from the Moon alone. You will still get a reading, but a Lagna-based confirmation needs an accurate time noted from the birth record.
